A Chilling Moment in the Netherlands: When the Glass Tipped Over on Its Own

Did you see that?
The Glass Moved on its own - tipping water everywhere

So...

My family and I had been visiting friends in the Netherlands last week, enjoying the sights and the wonderful sights and enjoying company. Yesterday, my friend and I decided to take a trip to the site of the Battle of Overloon, visiting the museum there. If you ever get the chance, it's an amazing experience—highly recommended. The museum is filled with wrecks of machinery brought in after the battle, each piece a silent witness to history. Some are in better condition than others, but for example, one tank we saw was just an empty shell, its insides completely gutted and poppies and wreaths laid on the machinery, all of the equipment had a story (follow the link to read the story of the 5 men who fought in this machine, 2 of whom died and are buried at the Military cemetery in Overloon). It was eerie, to say the least.

As is customary for me in places like this, I couldn’t shake the feeling of being watched. Maybe it’s the atmosphere, the history etched into every twisted piece of metal, or just my overactive intuition, but the sensation was palpable and determined. Despite that, we had a great time at the museum, soaking in the stories of the past.

Later that evening, we returned to our friends’ house, ready for a relaxing night. We ordered some pizza, and as we all sat around the table, my daughter was in the middle of telling a story, filling the room with her animated chatter. It was one of those perfect, cosy moments, where everything feels just right.

And then, out of nowhere, the surreal happened.

Both my wife and I — she’s very scientific and not one for fanciful ideas — watched in disbelief as her glass, which had been sitting peacefully on the table, just tipped over. No one was near it. No one touched it. But there it went, tipping over as if moved by an invisible hand.

My arms instantly broke out in goosebumps. We looked at each other, wide-eyed, both trying to process what we had just seen. It was one of those moments where reality seemed to slip, just for a second, into something unexplainable.

We’re, well she, is not one to jump to conclusions about the supernatural, but it was hard to ignore the strangeness of it all. First, that feeling at the museum, and then this—right in front of us, with no logical explanation.

I thought I’d share this bizarre experience because it’s one of those stories that just has to be told. It’s definitely going to be my blog of the week! Sometimes, life throws these little mysteries our way, and whether there’s a rational explanation or not, they make for unforgettable moments.
