I'm eagerly anticipating the upcoming investigation at the Annison Funeral Parlour. With a new device in hand, I'm curious to see how it enhances my night vision captures. Although it's quite a journey, there's something uniquely thrilling about traveling to distant locations for these investigations—perhaps it's the anticipation and richness of experience that isn't as palpable in local investigations? All I do know that it has been a while since my last adventure.
The Annison Funeral Parlour is steeped in eerie history and has garnered a reputation as one of Hull's most haunted sites. The tragic tale of Mary Jane Langley, an 18-year-old girl brutally murdered in 1891, casts a long shadow over the building. Despite thorough investigations, her killer was never found, leaving many to believe her restless spirit still roams the premises. Current staff working in the pharmacy now housed there often report feeling uneasy, avoiding the upper floors where unexplained phenomena are frequently experienced.
As I prepare for the investigation, the team will use a blend of traditional and modern techniques. We plan to start with cry-out séances and quiet observation periods, hoping to encourage any spirits present to communicate. The Estes Method, which isolates one investigator with noise-cancelling headphones and a blindfold, will also be employed to capture spirit messages. This method has proven effective in past investigations, offering insights that might otherwise go unnoticed. Please read my blog from the Romsey Plaza investigation where I was 'blown away' at what I was hearing, especially when talking with a representative from the theatre staff!
We'll set up cameras and audio recording equipment in areas with the most reported activity, such as the stables and upper floors. My, and our, goal is to document any paranormal occurrences, from cold spots to unexplained noises, and perhaps even the sight of apparitions. However, our investigation is not solely about capturing evidence; it's also about connecting with the history and stories of those who may still linger in this world.
I'm especially excited to see how my new equipment will improve the quality of my captures and potentially provide new insights. The team has previously explored this location, and we're eager to continue our work, hoping to bring more understanding to the mysteries of the Annison Funeral Parlour. It's an exciting time, and I look forward to sharing our findings in the next blog post.
In addition, I would like to mention that our technical guru has designed some ground-breaking 'new tech' which we will be trialling at the venue too.
